Neurofeedback for Autism
Individuals with Autism often face challenges with emotional regulation, sensory processing, and communication. At MindVista, we offer Neurofeedback Therapy as a supportive tool for those with Autism, aimed at enhancing self-regulation, improving focus, and managing anxiety in a gentle, non-invasive way. Neurofeedback is a brain training technique that helps the brain create more balanced activity patterns. By monitoring brainwaves and providing real-time feedback, this therapy encourages the brain to function more efficiently. For individuals with Autism, this can improve emotional control, focus, and overall self-regulation, helping to reduce overwhelm and ease communication.
At MindVista, we’re committed to providing tailored neurofeedback programs that suit the specific needs of each individual. Neurofeedback offers a gentle, drug-free option to support individuals with Autism in improving their mental and emotional well-being. It’s a personalized therapy that adapts to each individual’s unique brain patterns, helping them progress at their own pace. Neurofeedback may provide lasting benefits if you want to enhance focus, regulate anxiety, or promote a more balanced emotional state.

How Does Neurofeedback Work?
Initial Assessment
In our first meeting, we’ll learn more about you, your history, and your goals. This is also a great time to ask any questions you might have! The session typically lasts 30-60 minutes.
1

Quantitative ElectroEncephaloGram (QEEG)
A QEEG brain scan is a simple, non-invasive test that measures the electrical activity in your brain. This helps us tailor the best neurofeedback or biofeedback approach for you. The scan takes about one hour and is not used for diagnosis.
2

Feedback and Summary of Findings
Once the QEEG data is analyzed, we’ll meet with you again to discuss the results. We’ll explain how neurofeedback or biofeedback can help you reach your goals and answer any further questions you have. This session takes around 30-45 minutes, and we’ll provide a written summary of the findings along with our recommended training plan.
3

Neurofeedback Training
Neurofeedback sessions are held 1-3 times per week at our clinic, with most clients noticing positive changes after 20-40 sessions. Over the course of these sessions, a consistent feedback mechanism helps your brain learn to produce the desired brainwave patterns more reliably. Gradually, these changes help you better manage your emotions, behaviors, and mental performance, leading to a more balanced and effective daily life.

Benefits of Neurofeedback for Autism
Promotes Emotional Regulation
Neurofeedback helps improve emotional control by training the brain to develop more balanced responses to stimuli. This leads to fewer emotional outbursts and greater emotional stability, helping individuals with autism manage their feelings more effectively.
Encourages Sensory Processing
Neurofeedback can assist in regulating brainwave activity associated with sensory overload. By helping the brain process sensory input more efficiently, it helps manage hypersensitivity and discomfort, making everyday environments less overwhelming.
Better Communication and Social Interaction
Neurofeedback supports areas of the brain involved in communication, leading to encouraging verbal and non-verbal communication skills. As emotional regulation and sensory processing improve, individuals with autism may experience enhanced social interactions and more meaningful connections with others.
